
| The Sokol Greater Cleveland Czech Folk Dancers were organized in 1972 to preserve and acquaint others with Czech music and dance. |
| The Sokol Greater Cleveland Czech Folk Dancers were founded in 1972 to promote and preserve the Czech Culture through dance. Since their inception, the group has had the opportunity to present their heritage to audiences not only in the Greater Cleveland area but throughout the United States. These appearances include the Palace Theatre in Cleveland, the Cleveland Institute of Music, several October Fests, The Ohio State Fair, Ellis Island, Epcot at DisneyWorld, Ennis Polka Festival in Texas, Czech Days in Wilber Nebraska, Frankenmuth in Michigan, and in many states where Sokol conventions have been held. Classes are held in the main ballroom on Friday evenings begnning in October. No prior dance experience is necessary. |
| New participants are always welcome, from age 12 and up. Currently the group has members ranging in age from 16 to 80. |
